Private house in Dawlish / Devon
High energy costs ultimately led to the decision to invest in a solar system and a storage system. Two people live in the detached house in the south of England.
The available space on the property is used for 14 solar modules installed on the roofs of the house and garage. Two batteries store surplus solar energy for later use, including during the evening and night. Any remaining excess energy can be fed into the grid.
According to the household’s experience, electricity costs were reduced in the first year, with annual savings of more than £2,000. Based on the assumptions used for this calculation, the investment is expected to pay for itself after approximately four years.
